# MasterID Integration API

> Integrate identity verification, business checks, wallet queries, and mobile money collections through the MasterID public API.

MasterID is a live, workspace-scoped API for identity and business verification, wallet balance checks, and mobile money collections in Uganda. This guide covers the v1 public API surface so you can build secure backend integrations that verify subjects, collect payments, and receive real-time completion events.

## How integration works

1. You generate a credential pair in the Developer Console and store both values securely.
2. You call [GET /catalog](https://docs.masterid.co.ug/api-reference/catalog/get-catalog.md) to list supported products, required fields, and prices.
3. Before each verification, you request consent wording from [POST /verifications/consent](https://docs.masterid.co.ug/api-reference/verifications/request-consent.md), present it to the data subject, and confirm it when submitting.
4. You submit the check with an [Idempotency-Key](https://docs.masterid.co.ug/concepts/idempotency.md) and store the returned `sessionId`.
5. You poll `GET /verifications/{sessionId}` or accept a signed `verification.completed` webhook.
6. For mobile money collections, you complete merchant activation, then create and track collection requests.
