# GET /wallet

> Read your workspace wallet balance and currency through the MasterID API.

`GET https://masterid.me/api/public/v1/wallet`

Returns the current wallet balance for the authenticated workspace. The balance is read-only through the API. Fund your wallet and manage withdrawals in the MasterID app.

A balance check is not a reservation. Other workspace activity can change the balance between the time you check it and the time you submit a verification or collection.

## Authentication

**X-API-Key** `string` *required*

Your workspace API key.

**X-API-Secret** `string` *required*

Your workspace API secret.

## Response

**id** `string` *required*

The API request ID.

**data** `object` *required*

**properties**

**currency** `string` *required*

The currency code for the balance, for example `UGX`.

**balance** `number` *required*

The current wallet balance in the smallest currency unit.

## Status codes

| Code | Meaning |
| - | - |
| 200 | Balance returned. |
| 401 | Missing or invalid credentials. |
| 429 | Rate limit reached. |
